DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - WINDSURFING
ABOUT THE COURSE
This is an intermediate windsurfer course, ideal for participants who are keen to develop their skillset and perhaps, down the track, move towards a board racing level. Continuing on from the RCSF Learn to Windsurf course, this program will seek to reinforce the skills and techniques learned in the previous course, and introduce some new theory and content.
Participants can expect to look at new concepts such as apparent wind sailing, and learn crucial windsurfing techniques such as efficient pumping, planing and using the harness.
Although some sailors will develop competitive streaks, there will still be a focus on enjoyment and non-conventional activities and drills, with the key objective being to provide these sailors with the confidence to take part in club racing independently.
Sailors entering this course should provide their own board and equipment although we will do our best to make available charters to those who are still in the market for their first windsurfer.
PREREQUISITES
Entrants must display basic windsurfing knowledge and competency, or have successfully completed the RCSF Learn to Windsurf course. Participant's shall also be members of Manly Sailing Club to enter this course.
