INTERMEDIATE COURSES
Development Program
ENTER HERE
ABOUT THE COURSE
The winter Development Program is suitable for those who have successfully completed stages 1 & 2 in the RCSF LTS Program, and want to further their experience and enjoyment on the water.

It's the right course for sailors aiming at developing the confidence and competence required to race from beginner to intermediate club level and some of these sailors may be eyeing entry into the final squad offered by the RCSF.

There's also an opportunity for more experienced sailors in this group (the sailor shall have completed at least one intake in another Development course or equivalent) to enter this program in a double handed class.

Although some sailors will develop competitive streaks, there will still be a large focus on enjoyment and non-conventional activities and drills, with a key focus of providing these sailors the opportunity to take part in club racing confidently.

Participant’s may enter this course in either;
  • Single-handed Open Skiff (Bic)
  • Single-handed Laser (4.7 or Radial)
  • Double-handed Dinghy (RS Feva - returning Development sailors and above)

Sailors entering this course should provide their own boat and equipment although we will do our best to make available charters to those who have recently moved into a Laser or RS Feva.

Please be mindful that although we will make every attempt to accommodate your sailor's first preference, there are a limited number of yachts available for charter during this course and other factors such as crew size may also be considered.  We apologise if your child’s first choice is not available.

In certain circumstances, the RCSF may approach and award scholarship(s) to one or more sailor(s) in this course.  This will be on a case-by-case basis and include boat use and course fees for one season.

ENTRY CRITERIA
Entrants typically enter the Development Program following the RCSF Learn to Sail 2 program.

Sailors at this stage must also be members of the Manly Sailing Club as they start to show keen interest in club activities with their friends.  There is lot's on so don't miss out!
