Young sailors may join the programme at any level, depending upon their prior experience.  We will generally invite you to attend Manly Sailing Club prior to the commencement of the course in order to ascertain which course is likely to be the most beneficicial and enjoyable.

Sailing clothing is dependent on seasonal conditions. For the first-time applicants, the MSC can provide life-jackets but not wetsuits.

Parental Involvement

For levels 1 - 4, it is both expected and required that parents/caregivers will participate in the day to day operation of on and off water support for each coaching session.  Full training will be given.

Course Scholarships

​An opportunity exists for an applicant with some extenuating circumstances to be offered a scholarship to subsidise them through the course and or provide a Bic boat for a complete season.

​A scholarship will only be offered after reviewing the findings from the initial interview or at the completion of Level Two. The complete details of a scholarship will only be revealed to an applicant at the time of an offer being made.
